Merovingian seax
Hello!
I was approached by a gentleman who wished a simple seax with dimensions true to a grave find he emailed me. I was happy to oblige, since I want to make more things from this era, and so here is the result:
wrought iron body with tool steel edge, which feat uresa hamon. The blade is 33cms long, the handle 22,5. It is 4cms wide, and 9mm thick. I used oak wood for the handle.

Absolutely lovely. The blade is superb!!! Great, great work. Will it get a scabbard?
Hello Tim!
I am very happy that you like it! Unfortunatelly, this blade was comissioned sheathless... But I must say I got really intrigued by the earlier stuff...
It's fantastic. Very clean and functional looking, but elegant at the same time. Kudos!
I like it a lot. Well done, thank you for sharing.

Was there any handle information (length, or other) with the grave find data?
Hello gentlemen, and thank you for the kind words! Carl - there wasn´t anything about the wood itself, but the tang was about 20cms long, so I went from that.
Very nice. I like it a lot.
