Carolingian Belt
Hello!
As the number of people interested in Carolingians slowly grows, some of them have found themselves in the need of a belt. I was very happy to be asked to come up with a design, and even more happier when I was told to transferthat design into an object. The strap end is inspired by a find of Carolingian origin, found on an antiques-selling website, and so is the buckle. The motive on the belt was a bit taxing, but then I came across some pstome columns from the 9th century, and they had these palm rees carved into them, and so I tried to transfer it using a self-made antler stamping mark.
Here you can see the finished belt and some WIP pictures:

Very nice! I enjoy your work on this era. The palm design is interesting. I would not have guessed palm leaves on the columns in Europe. The strap and buckle are great. Well done.
