I'm in the process of publishing an article on Anglo-Saxon spears (5th-7th century) in an academic journal, and need to find a high-quality image of a pattern welded spear to illustrate a paragraph. I could use a line drawing or a sketch from an out-of-copyright 19th century text (like this one), but I would love to use an image of a reproduction to highlight the visual impact of the technique when it's new.
Are there any craftsmen here who would be willing to grant permission for me to use an image of their work? While I'm not receiving compensation for this article (it's an academic journal), I should be able to arrange reasonable payment for photo rights through my university.
I'd really like to use an image of a spear, though I could settle for a pattern welded sword in a pinch.
I can give more details via PM.
Thank you in advance!

Would either of these two suit your purposes. If so, what sort of background would you like it shot against?
