Sword Maker ID
Hello,All.
Just joined this forum.I'm a newbster,when it comes to swords.I only have 4 swords.The 5th one I buried w/ my son in 2004.
We both liked it as it was a CW dated Ames NCO sword.Anyway, here's my question.
I purchased a Briquet style sword off ebay in June.It is the French style but it has NO French markings on the spine or blade.
My problem is,I don't have a camera that is good enough to get good close-ups.The auction does have good close-ups so I'm going to try to put the auction in this post.
The marks, which are 2,are of a CROWN OVER D. The mark on the blade is distorted due to wear. The is a good close-up shot of it in the auction.I would really like to know who made it and when.Don't care about the value as I think that it is only worth what I gave for it or maybe a little less. Thanks for looking. Here's the auction.

I do hope that the link works and somebody can help.
Thank-you so much.

I am not sure of the briquet's original maker, though.
My question: Did you bury your 5th sword next to your son's grave?

By the way, when you click on the link, just click on "SEE ORIGINAL LISTING"
