|
A productive week this week. Here is another rapier just finished....this one is inspired by a fairly well know sword in the Kunsthistoriches Museum in Vienna. The original is plated in gold and completely covered in fine etching or inlay, so mine is very much a simplification. The original has what appears to be a metal grip detailed like the rest of the hilt, but mine is blackened and polished maple.
This has a 35" modified Hanwei practice blade and weighs in at exactly 2 lbs. It balances right in front of the hilt. The faceted pommel is keyed to the tang to prevent rotation, and is secured with a custom one-piece nut.
It's available for $650 and there are more photos up on the website: www.jessebelsky.com/stageswords
If you're interested in a different blade just let me know.
