Steel foundry for investment casting hilt furniture
I was wondering if any manufacturers (or anyone) knows of a good steel foundry in the USA that can cast small runs of guards and pommels?

There are too many steel foundries in that country which make furniture for sword hilts, Mike. I am not sure which foundry that does so.
Well not in the U.S.A., but Leo at Tod's Stuff, specifically Tod's Foundry can make castings of your designs.

Tod's Foundry can also supply custom items to your specification and design.

Now, if you wish him to make the design from scratch it can be expensive if you only want one guard or pommel made, but become more cost effective if you want multiple castings done of one design.

Leo can also work with a wood carving that he can then make a master casting mould that can be used for small production runs of at least 3 units, he can also do them in steel or bronze.

You should contact him for specific prices and for any technical details about how best to make your model in wood or in other materials maybe including carved wax models.

I contacted Leo for information about casting bronze and/or steel heads for my walking sticks and I'm planning on having at least one done in the immediate future after I carve the model myself.

The price is much lower if he works from a precise model you make and ship to him and is more expensive if he has to carve the master casting model himself according to your specifications.

Obviously one has to have the carving skills to make a precision model for the less expensive option.

When I have my own project done I'll certainly post something about it as a review and in my " Walking Stick " Topic when I use the bronze castings in the making of finished stick.

As to U.S.A. foundries I would search for places that specialize in art castings and for small production runs rather than large industrial foundries only interested in huge orders and with no experience in doing art castings..
You've gotta look at the smaller shops for that sort of thing.
