Tod's Stuff Baselard
I just purchased a Baselard from Tod's Stuff on his " IN STOCK " page:

http://www.todsstuff.co.uk/in-stock/tods-in-stock.htm

I assume that some of you remember that I already have one Tod's Baselard that I won as a prize on " myArmoury " a few years back,

http://www.myArmoury.com/talk/viewtopic.php?t=17036

I also commissioned a custom Eared Dagger from him a while back also: I was browsing his site's
" IN STOCK " page and I let myself be " seduced " by this bigger one than the 8" bladed Baselard I already have.

http://www.myArmoury.com/talk/viewtopic.php?t=22689&start=0

Been a long time since I purchased something from Tod, and a nice and agile looking near 15" bladed dagger
is something I really like the scale of: Long enough to have decent reach but still in the dagger range in size.

The Baselard should be shipped next week and when I get it in my hands I'll post my impressions of it as an informal review.

Tod's Stuff Baselard
This Italian baselard looks more like a dagger than sword to me.

Baselards generally are daggers, though some do get into short sword territory.

Jean, congratulations. I've been eying Tod's baselards and ballock daggers for some time now. Will have to pick one up one day. I look forward to your review.
Thanks Jean,

It went off today, so it should be around a week, although Canadian customs can hold things for a while sometimes.

I hope you like it!

Tod
Congrats Jean, I placed an order for this one this morning.

Jean, that ear dagger of yours sealed the deal for me. I had been thinking about one since I did not see many examples out there. I found the old thread and loved it and hope to work with Tod in the future. Now you have another winner!

Patrick Kelly, a winner for you too, that's a real nice one!

Patrick: Yes that is also a very nice purchase. :D

I see that I'm sort of spreading the " Buying Frenzy Virus " like blood in the water for sharks: An interesting purchase spreads like a zombie plague among addicted collecters ...... O.K. ran out of weird similies, and I couldn't help myself. ;)

The Eared Dagger is even more impressive in hand and up close.

Working with Tod on a custom commission was a very good experience as well as the customer service and communication.

The " In stock " page on Tod's site is really good when one want something right now, although the time it took to get my commissioned Eared Dagger finished and shipped was only a few months, and actually arrived sooner than originally estimated by one month.
Patrick,
I love that one. If I'd had the cash, I would have bought it when he first posted it. :)

I just happened to have a little spare cash planned for another work related purchase. On a whim I decided to check around beforehand and there you go. :D

I hope you share pics and your thoughts on it when you get it. Enjoy!
I think I had my hands on a dagger very similar to the one Patrick got on the Sterckshof Fair in Antwerp a couple of weeks ago (Might have been the very same one, given that it was in stock), but not quite my period.

Ultimately settled for a rather lovely bollock dagger with the same blade, really happy with that one.
Oh, recently browsing again on Leo ( Tod's Stuff ) site I just noticed that there is another " New In Stock page " that I hadn't noticed before for the " English Cuttler " line that Leo makes in addition to the other " In Stock " page where I saw and purchased the Baselard.

http://www.todsstuff.co.uk/theenglishcutler/knives/knives.htm

The English cutler stuff is at a lower price point but still looks really good.

This one seems really nice: http://www.todsstuff.co.uk/theenglishcutler/k...gger-3.htm
