I received the Antler Handle Sax today, from Wulflund in the Czech Republic. It seemed to get here quickly, the shipping date from the forge was less than two weeks ago. This sax was made upon order, and the entire order to delivery took six weeks.
This sax feels large. The blade is a little more than 18” in length, the antler handle was chosen well and fits a large hand comfortably. The blade came quite sharp (it was ordered sharp) and its appearance suggests to me that a blade forged 1200 years ago might have looked quite similar. The tang is peened onto the antler. There is also a small brass pin through the antler at about the halfway point of the handle. This pin perhaps has some purpose during assembly, as I cannot suggest a reason for its need in the finished piece.
I also odered this sax with a scabbard. The scabbard is very close fitting, and simple in its design and appearance. It is arranged to hang horizontally from a belt as expected, set up for a left handed draw, also as expected.
Overall I am very happy with it. This is not a highly polished or finished piece, but strikes me as balance of utility and simple beauty. The quality of the work and materials appears to be a good value for the price I paid in US dollars, and I can say with confidence I will buy from Wulflund again in the future.

From our Attachment Guide in the Info Section:

Why does my attached image appear as a link rather than displayed in my post?
Images that are wider than 800 pixels or taller than 800 pixels will be displayed as a link rather than embedded in the post. This allows members with a lower bandwidth connection to enjoy their browsing experience without having to download every overly-large graphic and prevents the image from expanding past the forum's page width.
