Arms & Armor Friedrich IV Spear
My Friedrich IV Spear arrived today :D

Other than a MRL axe I don't have a large variety of weapons in my collection. I've always admired lugged or winged spears and A&A seemed to have a few nice offerings. The Friedrich IV Spear is considered a boar spear or hunting spear but as we know this style was also used for warfare. I'd say it would be quite affective even against a well armored advasary based on it's stout blade and wicked point. While I was visiting the NY Metropolitan Museum of Art I noticed a simalar spear in their collection. I was pleased to see that this spear had the same stout socket and thick blade. Other than the secondary bevel creating the edge the Friedrich IV holds it's own in accuracy. The 6' ash pole is also very nice and has perfect straight grain. All in all I'm very pleased with my new spear and will soon mount it above my swords. I have no pictures of mine but here's a link.

Awesome, Gary! I've been really thinking about picking that very spear up.
That one's long been on my list as well, along with their Danish axe. I already have the 12th century.

Congrats.
I really like that one too, congratulations!
