Identification of sword
Dear fellow-fanatics of history and the weaponry appearing through the years,

Who can assist me in identifying the background of the sword as shown below? From what time and place does the design come from? Especially the crossguard caught my attention.

Here are some dimensions:
Total length: 51 inches / 130 cm
Grip length (without pommel): 10 inches / 26.5 cm
Blade length: 40 inches / 99 cm
Guard width: 9 inches / 23 cm

Your help would be much appreciated! Sources, images of similar designs, or any knowledge at all would help me a lot.

Kind regards,
Dennis

Well.....The s-shaped guard is Germanic Landesknect(sp?)......As for the makers mark , I have not a clue. It appears to be a blunt trainer, judging by the rounded tip. Darn nice..........McM
The makers mark is that of Marek Armoury and I'd say Landknecht as well, certainly supposed to be something from the 16th century
