Need a pommel lathed
Hello folks,

I picked up a Del Tin Moonbrand recently. Unfortunately the pommel is flawed and had a pretty serious void where the tang is peened. I was in the process of tightening it and it broke open a bit.

I could get another similar pommel made for it, but I was actually considering getting a Boromir style pommel lathed instead.

While I could find any number of machine shops to do something like this, I thought it would be better to check with someone already in the sword field if they would be interested. I'll remove and weigh the pommel once I get a deal going.

Hi Aaron, I could turn a pommel to your specifications. Feel free to PM me for more info.

Also, on the non-custom front, you might check out these pommels sold by Purpleheart: http://www.woodenswords.com/ProductDetails.as...inless-PHA
They are made for Rawlings training swords, but they are a nice size, and pretty close to the style of the Boromir Sword. I have one lying around here...they are about 12-14 oz, 1" diameter at the base, 1 3/4" wide at the widest point, and 2.5" tall. I think you can get them in both stainless and non-stainless. They come threaded M8....not sure if other options are available. The level of surface finish isn't super high...great for a training sword, but you might want it more highly polished.

Yep, really happy with my stuff from Ernie. Not only was it nicely done, but his prices were very reasonable. I need to get more done before they go up!
