I was reading a couple of threads regarding cutlass's elsewhere , and I was wondering. I know that cutlass's have been withdrawn from issue in pretty well every Navy in the world - they're hardly relevant in this age of ship-to-ship, air-to-ship missiles . But does anyone know of the LAST - OFFICIALLY recorded use of the cutlass in any navy ? I'm only guessing, but I'd say possibly the 1930's in the Gunboat era in mainland China or the same period in the Dutch East Indies ?

The most recent that I know of is the boarding of the Altmark.
