Unveiling of the Armour Research Society
Greetings,

For information on the newly created Armour Research Society, please view the following document:

http://www.armourresearchsociety.org/docs/announcement1.pdf

If you have any questions regarding the Society or its goals please contact either Erik D. Schmid at erik@armourresearchsociety.org or myself.

Regards,
A significant amount of progress has been made over the past few days. If you have not joined the mailing list I suggest you do so soon.

An announcement will be sent this evening with a number of very interesting points of interest to anyone with even a passing interest in armour research.
I am sure everyone on myArmoury.com will appreciate your focus on "cutting edge" research.

MUCH MORE to come......
We have the message board up and running. We have the bibliography of 850 resources for armour-related research.

We have the content currently under way and due around the end of the month on Robert W. Reed, Jr.'s early sallet project with Patrick Thaden.

We have the Journal in progress and due out in late March of 2005.

We have chats lined up with people from the museum and academic communities.

We are actively planning the 1st Annual Conference of the Armour Research Society for fall, 2005!

MANY other sources of information and goodies are in the works...

AND we are NOW able to accept memberships via multiple payment methods:

http://www.armourresearchsociety.org/membership.html

While we are not automatically processing the IDs and PWs at this time (that will take time)... within ~24 hours of receipt of payment you will receive an e-mail for the purpose of setting up your user ID.

This is YOUR society. We cannot make this work without you. Let's make a difference in the fields of armour research and education!

Note: the majority of this effort has been performed by only a few people .... we have come THIS far through the primary efforts of only a few people in under TWO weeks of active effort! Just imagine what we can do with the involvement of everyone in our respective communities!

This was an idea for a long time... the interest that all of you have shown over the past two weeks has proven to us that it can be more than just an idea.... we aim to be a living, breathing entity in the evolution of armour knowledge, research and education for a long time to come.
Midwest Armour Guild Meeting...
Here is the itinerary for the meeting:

I look forward to seeing many of you there.
Well worth the money. i recommend it to anyone who wants to further their knowledge.

Adam,

I believe you signed up for the mailing list. We sent out an update a few weeks ago. Did you receive it? If not, let me know and I will get it out to you.
