Does anyone recognise this sculpture?

I would really appreciate, if anyone could tell me the period and area for this sculpture and the armour he's wearing!

It's Saint George killing the dragon, a popular subject for sculpture. I don't know this particular one, and don't see it in what a Google Images search shows me.

I wonder if the scale skirt is mean to copy the scales of the dragon?

It appears the statue is held in the Germanisches Nationalmuseum in Nürnberg. Good luck in your quest.
