I am looking for more information on this specific helmet and maybe similar ones.

What interests me most: Is this helmet really classified as a barbute as they write? Or is it still a bascinet or is it some kind of hybrid helmet?

As far as I know, barbutes were always without visor, but this one hast a mount for klappvisors, still the museum says it is a barbute.

I'd like to understand the differences between a bascinet and a barbute, when you can say its one of this kind and when not.

Looking at the helmet above, could this here be classified as a barbute as well then?

In "Archaeology of Weapons" Oakeshott writes that the term barbute is 15thc. but there is no evidence it was applied to the T-faced Corinthian style helmets. So maybe the Italians did call a bascinet a barbute. I don't know.
Thanks for the link with the helm measurements. 8 1/4" by 9 13/16" is bigger then I thought for bascinets.

I think those measurements might have been taken from the bottom flared edge of the helmet.
