New lightweight, hard ballistic armor
Has anyone seen this? (About 10 minutes in)

The new "pistol plates" are around 1/4" thick, provide level IIIa protection, and weigh just over a pound for a 10x12 piece.
You could conceivably make a "suit" out of this that would only weigh 20 something pounds.
The material is also thin and hard enough that you could recreate things like articulated joints and rerebrace turning collars with it.
Obviously they aren't going to do that, but I think it's interesting that a lightweight suit of modern hard armor is now possible.
Isn't the DKX armour made from Dyneema? If so then the material has been around for about a decade. It is used in Spectra armour.
I wonder what a bec de corbin would do to it? Obviously less force than a bullet, but concentrated in a point that doesn't deform on impact?
