I have a weapon that I have absolutely no information about. It has been in my family for quite some time. Take a look and please if you have any ideas about its origin let me know.

Wow! I have no answer, but I would very much like to thank you for sharing! That thing has 'badass' written all over it!

Count to think of it, I'm not for certain on this, so its still not concrete. But it reminds me of a Dane axe to a certain degree.

I believe that it is an Afghan axe...

I think Phil is right. I picked up a nearly identical axe at a knife show in the mid 90's. The seller told me it was from the Pacific, but everything I have seen about it suggests that it was manufactured as a tourist piece in either Afghanistan or Pakistan at some point in the mid to latter half of the 20th century. Hope that helps.

It has matching numbers at each end which tells me it was mass produced. 22 axehead and 33 blade end. The wood looks to be ebony. This piece was used to hack something. There seems to be blood stains on the axe head, but hard to tell with the patina. The only story I ever had on this item is, it was brought back from World War II
This definitely looks like an Afghan Axe and I believe Phil has answered my question. TYVM

My first thought was a valaška or ciupaga (walking axe). Its form is a little different though.
