Jimi,

My red grip looked very similar to Chad's "oxblood" grip. The red grip on my friend's Duke also looks very similar to Chad's grip. Albion's normal oxblood is darker than this, and I think has more of a purplish-tinge to it. So, if you like Chad's sword, I would recommend requesting red.

Ok cool that's good to know. Chad's Sempach does look good with that colour.
So there we have it, a red gripped Sempach it will be. Now I just have to wait for the local Arms Officer to give me the go ahead (if permit is needed or not) and 3-6months (going by KoA).

Cheers for your help.
2 more examples of Albion red gripped swords.

Mine's not red, nor oxblood. It's magenta. :)

Albion's red can be too bright. Their oxblood can be too brown (see here for my oxblood-gripped Sovereign). Magenta is a great choice IMHO.
I love how clean everyone's blades and grips look in their photo. My grips are darker and more mottled from my sweaty hands, and my blades all have very fine striations from fine scotchbrite pads used to clean them--relatively frequently. Kudos on good looking swords folks!
