WW II German Ammo
I have an original 20 round package of 7.92X57 german military rifle ammunition manufactured in 1941 by DWM in Lubeck. 19 rounds are headstamped "edq 41" but one round is headstamped "FCPQ 41". This apparently is Fabrica De Cartuchos e Polvoras in Chelas, Portugal. Did Portugal supply the German military with ammunition in 1941 ?? Can someone enlighten me ?
While it is possible, I find that scenario unlikely. The German industrial machine turned out cartridges in high quantities unti almost the end of the war and I doubt that they would have needed any assistance in 1941.
