Buying one of these " Little Seax(es)" has just become more interesting, although I was happy enough about it without the extra fun of maybe winning another nice seax, if enough people buy them before the deadline or seax cutoff point.. ;) :lol:

It's also really a way to be a " Patron " of a true artist.

Looking forward to seeing pics of the finished " Little Seax " and scabbard.

Neat project! I'll be interested to see the handle and sheath.

I'm waiting to see the handle and scabbard too before I decide if I'm buying one of quirky little knives.

I just wanted to add a little update since it has been awhile since I posted. It looks as though the first few "little seax" will be done by the end of next weekend, and the sheaths won't be too far behind. I got done working on some of the hardware for the sheaths today, 500 bronze staples, and should have the remaining 200 bronze bars completed tomorrow or early Wednesday. I'll post some pictures as soon as things start coming together!

Any updates on having these available ?

I'm in no great rush, but it's useful to be able to budget for it being for this month's Creditcard billing period or a future one. ;) :D :cool:

Also, very curious to see how the finished knives turn out. ;)

I am definitely looking forward to their completion, and I of course am going to put money down for one, but this will be the first time I've ever paid for a little seax...

My, that was a horrible pun.

My apologizes for the lack of updates, I have been hard at work on this projects and had two set backs with abrasives not leaving the finish I was looking for. The pieces are mostly done, new abrasives should be arriving on Wednesday, and I will post an image of a completed "Little Seax" by Thursday evening.

On the sheath, there will be two different styles to choose from, and will be making 50 of each. If good fortune is with me I will have one of each to post on Thursday as well.

This weekend I will be out of town visiting family, however everyone who expressed interest in this thread, or PMed me should have one ready to purchase by the end of next week.

On a final note, I paid attention to the first posts and selected a handful of blades and ground the stamp out, so there will be a few with a plain spine.

I think I finally convinced my wife to give me a "little seax" for Christmas, oh yeah!

I can't wait to see what these will look like.

Oh no! I am now horribly conflicted with the little seax logo, now that I know what it is all about is kinda appealing, but then again I do like historical pieces with no logos... nooo what to do :P

The answer is easy, one of each! ;-)

I'm getting the stamped version because it isn't an important issue for me, and to leave the ground out version for those it is a preference. ;) :lol: :D

I think it was really nice of Michael to grind the stamp out for those who didn't want it.

On the other hand; Michael, PLEASE post a few picture of the sheathes! Curiosity is killing me!!!

The pun reminds me of a very small musical instrument made of brass since I pronounce the word \ˈsaks\

And behold! The world is now a better place!!!

After numerous sleepless nights and plenty of hard work I finally have images to post of what this "Little Seax" will look like. One of the sheath designs is completed, the other I ran out of time to finish assembling, but compiled the components to give a fantastic idea of what they will look like.

Next week I will start taking orders, and I apologize for not responding to those who have written me, there has simply been much to get done before the weekend. I will respond very soon! I promise!

Also I would like to thank Ben Dawson who I have been dragging up to the shop to help me work on the hardware for the sheaths. It feels great to have another person working in the shop and he has done a wonderful job.
