Albion Meyer - modified
Hi All,

Here is an Albion Meyer that I have modified for a customer.

I stripped off the old pommel and the grip and was left with the tang. I made a new pommel trying to get it as close in size to the original Albion one so that I didn't mess up the handling of the sword. The pommel is based on one from the Metropolitan in New York, though a slightly different shape to accomodate the pommel size for this sword.

The grip is fairly standard waisted longsword grip form. The handle core of Ash was cord wrapped, then leather covered and cord wrapped for texture. A half wire grip was then fitted.

The handle was epoxy bonded and the pommel hot peened

It has Latin and Greek inscriptions engraved into the blade.

I hope you like the changes I made to a fantastic blade.

Tod

That's a great looking modification job. Someone now has a very classy practice sword.

I never liked the grips that come with the Maestro line.

Deus Nobiscum I believe translates as God With Us, a late Roman and Byzantine battle cry.
Thats awesome! Really makes a nice one off piece from somany the same!
That is truly remarkable - well done!

Herbert
I like it very much. Your work is truely inspiring... How did you do the words on the blade?

Regards,
Thomas
