That appears to show the scabbard in a typical hand-carriage mode, with the belt wrapped wrapped around it and the buckle end hanging down near the middle. That is exactly where the buckle falls when the belt is wrapped around the scabbard in this manner.
Yes bu I was wondering about the methond of the attachement between the scabbard and the belt.

It looks like this, http://www.albion-swords.com/images/swords/al...ard-2.jpg, but it's a bit odd, since I thought that these kind of scabbards were well out of fashion in the '70s.
