14th Century Armour from Tana
Hello.
I want to make the armor kit based on the finding near Azov (brigantine from Tana). Here is the link with the article about the finding http://www.oocities.org/kaganate/tana.html . Practically it is the only information I could find in Internet about this armor kit. The articles in Russian provide the same information. And also I found the drawing of the possible reconstruction for such a brogantine (I think this drawing is quite disputive).
I would like tio ask an advice which elements would suit for this brigantine and arm (I think this is arm protection that was found near brigantine) protection: helmet, leg protection, gloves, under, clothing, weapon and shield etc.

This picture looks more or less ok

This one does not look very much historically correct in my opinion

But anyway both of them are very free interpretations of what the knight could use with this brigantine.
maybe the picture from your last link does look not correct because it actually depicts byzantine varangian guards.
its from the same osprey title (which i own).
that is a nice reconstruction, and one I haven't seen before.

There are just a couple of things I will note on this. I would call this a Coat of Plates rather than a brigandine, as the reconstruction shows back fastenings, which to me is one of the critical differences.

The other question I would raise, is about the neck and shoulder area - either the neck opening is extremely tight, or the width of the shoulders in the reconstruction could restrict the raising of the arms above shoulder level.
Yes, I also thought that it can restrict the moving of shoulders, but maybe it would be Ok due to the moving of plates which are on the top (on the right and on the left of the neck). I need it for HMB so practicality is extremely inportant. Actually I chose it because it protecs the back well from all sides.
