A real ma will wear and use whatever they want to. Others will say size matters.

This type XIIIa would easily be in the top three:

If you have to ask "why", perhaps you need to look at the pictures again.

I would have thought the manliest sword would be, by definition, the sword least likely to be used by a woman.

In this case I would suggest a Zweihänder.

From a bonobo's perspective and as a pun in German the answer is most obvious and nothing but the bullock dagger gets close. Image google provided some interesting answers including this list of sword fights: http://www.ranker.com/list/top-7-manliest-swo...-blackwood

Ah yes... that's the sword I use when I need to overcompensate!

and now for something completely different..

the manliest sword is a sword wih no handle, thats right a sword that is 4 to 6 feet of double edged blade all the way around, withsharpened tips on both ends. (imagine taking two albion danes, breaking the blades off and welding them thogether end to end, wihout the ricasso)

worried about cutting your hands? deal with it! this is the MANLIEST sword in the universe since youd have to be one heck of a macho man (or a total masochist) to even think of picking it up.

had to say it just this once

For me it would be a Claymore. The sight of one of those just invokes gruff manly thoughts for me...
