Best Stores for Historical Arms and Armour
Hi everyone,

My first post on myArmoury.com :) I've always been interested in history, especially historical weapons and armour. hopefully going to buy my first items soon.

I just wanted to ask you all if you could recommend what, in your opinion, are the best places to source historically accurate, high quality arms and armour. Its easy enough to find information on the best swords( I'm leaning towards Albion :D ), but it's quite difficult to find historical axes, maces, spears, shields etc that aren't stainless steel wall hangers or poorly welded junk :\

So, any tips?

Thanks in advance,
Stephen
For polearms you can't go wrong with Arms&Armor. You can buy them directly from the or from Kult of Athena.
arms & armor has some good axes to the only issue i had with mine was that the haft came loose because they use hikory and it seems to wear down preaty fast but that was an easy fix the metals still realy good or hanwei has some decent ones i know a few people who use them
hanweai are great "entry range" and will last a very long time given you take good care of them, other than that i would advise to make your own stuff as much as possible, learning how to make things is really interesting and makes it all the more special to you and if you cant make it yourself, find someone who can, particularly with steel, if steel doesn't fit you when it comes out of the box it wont fit you later
