Looking for the earliest depictions of a jack of plates
I am looking for information on the earliest depictions of a jack of plates. I am wondering if there is information of them being used at the battle of Flodden. I am thinking of the classic sewn on plates to a clothe cover. I know there are jacks being used in the 15th century, usually referring to the multi layered sewn kind, but I am looking for information on the evolution of the classic Elizabethan jack of plates. Any information would be useful.

Thanks,
Mark
