Anybody have more pics of 16th century swords where the hilt "grows/flows" directly into the pommel. I've only seen this on the attached sword (see the pic) but Vladimir Cervenka has a couple up on his website. Unfortunately his are reproductions and he doesn't have any information on the originals so I can't be sure about the historical accuracy of his reproduction.
Any information on these style of swords would be fantastic.
Many katzblager also have this type of hilt construction... Might have been a early 16th century type of fad that was going arround as it can be seen in several different types of weapons.
