Groser Heidelberger Liederhandschrift - 14th century book
I have no idea if people know of this or not, but I figured I should share this.
It's a german manuscript from the first half of the 14th century, with plenty of pictures of different knights from the era, allong with (as far as I've gathered), their stories.

This book contains heraldry, weapon, armour and clothing.
It is online, and this is the scroll-version, just knock yourself out.

Me, I'm partial to the heraldry of 182v, the harp on blue.

Keep in mind that a lot of the silver in the pictures have faded with age and blackened.

Gentlemen

Enjoy

Btw:

On 321v, we see two knights in a melee wearing greathelmets (relevant to another discussion)
That's the manuscript commonly called the Manesse Codex. It's a great manuscript.
You will be hard put to find a medieval manuscript that is better known - maybe the Crusaders Bible.

I actually saw the original - quite impressive!

best wishes

Herbert
