thought I'd share a few pics of a katana project i just finished for a friend of mine. While on vacation in Japan, he picked up a few odds and ends (furniture) and had me make him his own sword using the parts. I tried to keep it simple, but I thought to give it some flair I'd try a double ito wrap on the tsuka, something I've never seen before. not sure if it's remotely historic, but we both like it. Enjoy.

though it looks purple in the flash the ito is more black in natural light.
