CombatCon Las Vegas 2012 update!
Hello,

We are really excited here at CombatCon! Many of the regular classes are now online with more class descriptions being added everyday: Check out: http://thecombatcon.com/classes

Due to the spectacular response to the special master classes last year, we have brought them back! They will be available on Friday during the day. Two of these are now online; Nick Gillard's "Return of the Jedi Fighting" masterclass (http://thecombatcon.com/jedi-fighting) and Anthony DeLongis' Whip masterclass (http://thecombatcon.com/whipclass). There is limited space, so sign up now for these rare opportunities you won't want to miss!

The master classes are an additional charge and you must be registered for CombatCon to sign up so go to: http://thecombatcon.com/register and take care of business! We know it's tax season, so to help ease the burden we are offering 10% off until April 16th. Just use the promo code: DEATHANDTAXES when you checkout.

This year is going to top last year’s mind-blowing event, so don’t miss it!

See ya in July!

Cheers,

John
Both of my WMA instructors went last year, and both are going again this year. If anyone is on the edge about this, I say do it! They only have great things to say about it. I will definitely be going next year.
Which group are you with, Eric?
Hello Everyone,

95% of the classes are now online and you can see a tentative schedule with the WMA classes!

With nearly 30 instructors from around the world teaching everything Western Martial Arts, there is something for everyone at CombatCon 2012! You can choose between intensive 2 hr classes or a variety of 1 hour classes. A full WMA class list is available along with their class descriptions.

There's A LOT to do at Combat Con so choosing between classes and the exciting Panels, Activities and Demonstrations (TBA soon) during the day will be difficult! We have 10 more classes this year than last year. That amounts to over 18 additional hours of class time. We are also offering 1.5 hour classes on Friday. There is so much to do in the day at Combat Con, and it doesn't get much easier in the evenings. After dinner there will be tournaments, free fencing, movies, games and that's all without leaving the hotel. After all, you are in Las Vegas!

Also, Neal Stephenson is coming back this year! He is an incredible writer and combatant. We're so happy to have him back with us.

If you haven't registered yet, now is the time (http://thecombatcon.com/register). We are only 11 weeks away.

See ya in July!

While our instructor list is full, we're proud to announce a new concept in WMA workshops, the Experimental Class! Many Combat Con participants are up & coming Martial Arts instructors who have never taught at a major national WMA convention. We have created several class spot which will be open for people to get their first chance to teach at Combat Con! Here's how it will work:
On Friday all registered participants will have the opportunity to present class ideas. Anything they would like to teach related to WMA. We will compile all the offers and choose the most appropriate, interesting classes. These 1 hr classes will be taught on Sunday in Room G. It's that simple.

So come & give us your best class ideas. You may find yourself teaching a few days later!

See ya in 23 days!

Special Guests at Combat Con
Hey everyone,

16 days and counting till CombatCon 2012! We wanted to give you an update on the Special Guests:

Due to a personal emergency Nick Gillard cannot make it. Therefore, Nick's "Jedi Fighting" master class Friday is cancelled, but we have worked out a class with Kyle Rowling to replace it. You'll find the class description at http://thecombatcon.com/star-wars-sword so check it out!

Speaking of the Friday master classes, you will now find Bob Goodwin's "The Mind Sword" online so make sure you check that out at http://thecombatcon.com/mind-sword

Due to an insanely busy shooting schedule for the Hunted's feature film, Bob Chapin cannot make it either. Instead he has arranged a 48 hr film competition for any Hunted episodes shot during CombatCon! Check out all the details at http://www.slayercon.com/

We have added a new special guest! Paradox Pollack is an actor, producer and movement director. He has worked directly with Robin Williams, Will Smith, Rene Russo, Chris Hemsworth, Tom Hiddleston, JJ Abrams and Kenneth Branagh, as well as legendary stunt coordinator and second-unit director Vic Armstrong. His films include “What Dreams May Come“, “I Am Legend“, “Star Trek (2009)“, and “Thor“. You can find out more about him at http://thecombatcon.com/paradox-pollack

Last, we want to make sure you're aware of Neal Steaphenson's Kickstarter campaign for "Clang" (http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/260688528/clang).
