Picked this up this weekend measures 55 1/2 inches wire wrapped hilt looks like Damascus blade. Was told it was a Victorian era copy ,any ideas?

It's not too new, but some folks probably haven't commented since:
1) It's only been 2 days since you posted this. Quality answers sometimes take longer.
2) They're hesitant to comment based on a single photo that's not too detailed.
I'd love to see more shots, especially of the blade's surface, any maker's mark, the peen, and the hilt decoration. An overall shot showing non-distorted proportions would be good, too.
Is there something on the backside of the hilt?
