Greetings!

I am looking for any recommendations for a vendor who makes period correct surcoats for the following:

1. Custom Surcoat with heraldry for Gilbert De Clare ( Earl of Gloucester). date 1314.
2. Surcoat and robe ( or cloak) for Knight Hospitaller ( ca. 1140-1200).

On a side note, I am also looking for a maker of quality viking shields who is capable of producing a shield with some of the more elaborate shield decorations( painting).

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Have you considered doing it yourself? I made my own 1250-ish Hospitaller surcoat. It's not hard. No complicated heraldic patterns Happy

I am not good at sewing. However, if I had a pattern, I would be willing to try.

The pattern I used is basically this but without the sleeves: http://www.personal.utulsa.edu/~marc-carlson/cloth/type1.html

I finished the neck and arm openings with facings on the inside. Pictures and various other ramblings in this thread: http://www.myArmoury.com/talk/viewtopic.php?t=20306
