New scabbard by the upperclass
Hi all.

This scabbard is made for the new Archeologisch Informatiecentrum in Castricum (NL) opening in 2013.
They reconstructed Willem van Brederode (born Santpoort, 1226 and died Velsen, 1285)
and his wife Hildegonde van Brederode (born ? 1240 died Velsen 1302)
the remains of Willem and his wife were excavated in 1967.
and last year they have made reconstructions from the remains.

The fittings and chapes are hand made in brass then gilded.
The scabbard has a poplar core and a leather cover.
And I did a rewrap on the sword grip dark brown leather and wire wrap.

Hope you enjoy them

Ben

Very nice work.
Really nice Ben,

I really like the simplicity and clean-ness of the piece. Just a very well finished scabbard - well done. Love the colour too.
