FS Three Merctailor Type II Wooden Bucklers
The HVAC construction job i've been temping at is comming to an end this week. I'd like to take advantage of the down time while I look for another gig by getting more shoppe time in on folks stuff with days being open for a bit ( hopefully a short bit ). The construction gig was just paying the bills so I need to gin up a some extra cash for more supplies and the like to do this. I've got three of the Type II wooden bucklers we used to make avaliable. No money was spent on new supplies to build these, they are made from left over materials and parts that would have gone to waste otherwise.

The bucklers are made from 1/2 inch thick cross grained red oak plywood, faced in 7oz. brown leather ( left over of a brown hide we used to use for brown splinted greaves and bracers ) with hair on wool felt on the back side. They are trimmed with 4-6oz. thick natural color rawhide with steel clips at the joints. The boss's are hand hammered 16 gauge steel and have a hand stiched boss pad glued in made from wool felt and natural cotton batting. The grip is birch, riveted to a steel strip, covered in glued and stiched leather. The edge of the wood around the grip is beveled and the grip opeing is in the buckler is rimmed with leather. The bucklers are 13 inches in diameter. I'd like to get $70 plus shipping, this alot less than we used to sell these for, and this is the last of these there will ever be as theres no more left over parts for them.

I've just mailed out 14/15th century arms w/ integral spaulders and a B&B plates with faulds and tassets in the last couple of days and have a bunch of stuff in progress ( legs, spaulders, gorgets ect. ) and would really like to take advantage of the down time at work by using it in the shoppe.

Feel free to contact me with any questions. Payment by paypal prefered, but we can talk about checks or money orders.

No, thank you. :)
Second buckler is sold. Thanks Mike B.
Couldn't resist....that third one is calling you're name, you know who are...don't think, act. Your wife won't notice...you found it in the closet...just saying...it goes with that nifty new sword and shield book you bought from Freelance Academy Press....
That last one's mine. Nobody tell my wife, she'll kill me.
Adam, just PMed you back. Got home late from work today.
very interesting bucklers, and with a quite intuitive design for a beginner like me.. replacing leather with canvas etc
the design seems pretty much like a miniture viking shield

someone tell me how these handle, ill be honest id never made or handled a buckler before now.
