I guess that is a real bastard sword - in this case easier for one hand. For two handed use, one must slip the pommel.
Distal taper makes a big difference in lightness and good balance. More that 50% for this one? How much does the sword weigh? If you gave that spec, I missed it.
-- and that's a really good looking sword. Congratualtions on fine work.
