I've just noticed Windlass Steelcrafts have produced a replica of the Montoya rapier use in the film (I'm sure we've all seen) The Princess Bride. I've always loved that movie and from what i can remember THAT sword inspired me to start appreciating the art of swords and sword making. Sorry but I'm not to good with creating links and things but the sword can be seen at the kultofathena website.
I would love to here what everyones views are on the piece and if its worth a buy (knowing that one mans 'worthy' buy is anothers 'unworthy' buy.
My reservations are that Windlass Steelcrafts are not renowned as the best quality producers of rapiers (with this one having a threaded blade/pommel assembly) and that i think this particular pice is worthy of being more than a simple wall hanger.
All the best,
Martin
