A fifth year of the horse in three more years. If I reverse the numbers of my age in four more years, I'll be 16 again. A new life just about three years ago but before that I was 54 years from my birth year. Wink

Say Kids; What Time Is It?

It was all over for me at forty in a flash while setting up to do a music set at Tufts Univ radio station. While admiring each others equipment (the ad hoc band), the young lady DJ was scowling at us from behind her station and then asking if all of us old farts were ready to play some music. Dashed, truly dashed, as I was still doing my superman routine.

*Shrugs* 25 right now, 26 by the end of the year.

And I think it's not that we "youngsters" feel old so much as we feel like we haven't done so many things we/society/peers feel we should have done by this point in our lives. I don't feel old, but I do feel a little behind the times when people I know my age are getting married and having kids while I've no girlfriend in sight. A generation or two ago I'd be expected to be all settled down by now.

Random trivia: For women, over 30 is advanced child bearing age. Children are more likely to have health problems, Downs, etc past this point. Might be something of an issue that our society tells young women to put having kids off til later in life.

Where am I going with this? Hell if I know, I haven't had much sleep lately and that popped into my head...

I'm 61 and getting younger every day. This is what people in their sixties say so that young people will get suckered in.
But being retired really helps along with such a fascinating hobby. If you can still be "wowed" by something then you're still kicking.

23 and feeling good, though I can relate to Colt's point above.

When I was 16, I had a decent financial base and wanted to travel between my college semesters. Now while im in University I barely have enough to cover the basics, and had never left North America (not thats really a problem, just I always wanted to visit Europe, if even to visit the other half of the family in Germany). My collection actually consists of 19th-mid 20th c. swords/knives, one Japanese-made Iaito, and a couple dismantled wallhangers (one was converted into a double-edged machete of sorts). All those I bought cheap and others I inherited, my Iaito cost me more then all the others combined (oops fergot my bow, but it isnt a sword so I wont count it).

The point being that I figured I be further or more accomplished by now, which I think others my age might relate to and being another perspective on the same idea Colt pointed out.

Heres hoping my eventual degree in Economics pays off! Big Grin

I'm 40, or as I like to think of it, 18 for 22 yrs and counting. I didn't take up fencing till I was in my early 30's so my interest in Medieval Combat didn't come to fruition till later in my life. To tell the truth I really don't feel any different then I did at 21, except my knees hurt when it rains heavy. WTF?!

I have a Daughter in high school, a two year old son, and another one on the way in February. I'm starting to think they really do keep you young.

Turned 79 this past June and have been pursuing this "hobby" of collecting and research since the ripe old age of 13. Had a lot of pieces pass through my hands, mostly European and also some premier Japanese items. My biggest regret is selling a really fine and complete suit of 16th century Myochin armor, both the interior of the helmet bowl and the breast were signed by Yoshimichi.
