French brazil nut sword, info needed...
I really like this sword and I would appreciate all info or additional photos if anyone has any. Date, find place, dimensions... This photo is by Zach Luna.

It's the Yverdon sword from the Schweizerischen Landesmuseen, Zürich and recently shown at the Museum Cluny.

Sorry to disagree, Nathan : this sword comes from Le Mans (inventory number 1981.885.9), and has been found in Rennes, Britanny, in the Vilaine river in the XIXth century.

It is about 90 cm in length with a 75 cm blade. The reverse side of the pommel shows a dog-like figure, as seen on the relevant 'Barta sword' thread. I might be able to give you more precise dimensions if I manage to see it from closer next September, but until then it will remain behind a thick glass window at the Cluny.

Cheers

Please *do* disagree and correct the error. I was quickly quoting the topic linked and looked at the wrong sword.

Nathan, they are similar swords, it's easy to miss one for another...
