Is there such a thing? Even looking over on the Armour Archive the list is fairly out of date, with dead links, and any number of missing armourers that people have mentioned in passing here...

Have fun!

No. It would be a full time job keeping track of which professional was injured, ill or had some life changing disaster that affect everyone at some point. As for the talented amateurs, very few of them can keep up with demand and have unfortunately long queues. Any armourer who doesn't tends to be overpriced for the quality of work they produce or has lost the good reputation they once earned. That's a pretty wide brush stroke and probably stains some individuals that it shouldn't. Worried

The good amateur or semi-professional armourers tend to burn out once they realize they can make a better living doing something else. Reproduction armour of any quality is severely underpriced. North Americans are particularly bad for expecting functional, accurate harness elements for a slight premium over hideous sport armour-esqe objects. Its really sad. Sad

Fortunately we have a variety of discussion forae to see good work, gauge who is doing work appropriate to our individual needs, obtain feedback on their business practices, et cetera. Better to spend some hours (even days) reading these discussions than to send hard earned "fun money" off into oblivion...

Looking forward to seeing some of your playmates in harness at one of our practices soon.... We're in the same city after all. Wink

Cheers!

While it's not exactly what you're looking for, in the myArmoury member list you can sort by makers and manufacturers. They aren't all armorers, and some are much more active than others, but it's something to look at if you're really that interested in reading long lists.

Kel,

Right now my playmates are 3yrs old and 10 days old respectively, but once I've got some time to rub together and a safe kit we'll see about coming out for a visit...
