A WWII Japanese officer's shingunto katana (sword) in amazing condition. The blade appears to be oil quenched but the condition of the blade and fittings have to be seen to be believed. Much of the guilding on the fittings is still present. The tsuba is nice and thick. The seppas are all numbered and match up nicely. The sword comes with a blue and brown officer's sword tassle that is in great condition. It also comes with the original surrender tag that the Japanese officer wrote when Japanese swords were confiscated after the war, a translation of the tag and the name of the US serviceman that rescued it from certain destruction (non-traditionally made swords are illegal in Japan and get destroyed).
£2500. Ask me about postage.
