that sword would look utterly perfect to meif the direction the end of the quillons point was rotated 90 degrees abit like the albion doge.
and now that i think of it, that subtle curving looks like it, indeed could organically help become the basis for later basket hilts im speculating of course but it just FEELS that way
i feel almost ashamed to say that the simple weight figure in comparison to the type of sword in terms of grip length etc, tells me it will be very nastily effective. it weighs the same as my Norman sword and is considerably longer in blade and hilt,
BUT, and its a very slight one, is the fact that, aside from the katsbalger, i have never been much of a fan of the 'propeller' like style of guard where one quillon points left and the other points right, im a fan of the quillons that are, when looking straight down the blade, symmetrical,
of course this is just the whim of my own tastes and don't let it distract from, well if those waxes of the quillons compared to the original are anything at all to go by (those 'waxes' look like a ghostly plastic copy of the original, i can see no real difference between them myself) then i have no doubt whatsoever that this sword could be presented to the original owner and he wouldnt feel a shred of difference difference i don't think,
