The Bowie is an iconic American knife that comes in all shapes and sizes; this California Clip Bowie comes in LARGE. The bright-finish flat-ground blade is made from 1/4 inch thick 5160 spring steel and has rolled edges. The blade is differentially-tempered to HRc 58-60 at the edges with the spine and tang of the blade drawn back to HRc 45-48. The blade features a 7-1/2 inch lomng sharpened 'false-edge.' The heat-blued guard is O-1 tool steel 1/8 inch thick. The handle is Emboyna Burl wood with a brass collar at the base of the handle and a brass butt-plate.

This may be big but it's no show-piece- this is a powerful cutting tool and a formidable weapon suited to serious out-door work. Despite it's size and weight this knife feels very lively in the hand. Suited to re-enactments, Cowboy Action shooting or as a serious outdoor knife this will get the job done! Can be fitted with a leather sheath or a leather-covered wood sheath with metal furniture at an additional cost.
Now THAT'S a knife!!!!

Somebody had to say it....

I like big bowies, and that is a nice one! Good job, Tinker!!!!

(No, I can't afford it at this time, sadly....)
