The curved base plate of the pommel is 2-2.5cm thick in the centre, but the upper section is quite thin, probably only 12mm thick at most.

Just rechecking my photos, the pommel is mostly thin, but the central detail lobe is up to 2cm thick, like a tiny barrel shape.

The older version of the M.D.W. Cawood sword has a broader blade than the newer version but has no Lombardic inscription on it.
Many modern-day reproductions of this sword do not have this inscription engraved on the blade.
