Average weights of 16th century European swords
Greetings forumites,

A friend of mine is doing some research into sword weights of the 16th century for a prop making project. He's asked me for advice but its not really my period of interest (I'm a Viking  ). I'm not sure exactly what type of sword hes looking into but was wondering if anyone could provide me with the average weights of the common swords of period. I shall endeavor to find out what sword he means so as to help further.

Thanks in advance,
Nick
He has to be more specific. The 16th century represented perhaps he most diverse variety of arms of any time. He would need to specify a culture and a general type at the very least.
Yes, in 16th century you have huge variety from light riding swords and early rapiers to huge two handers...
