Can anyone help me locate someone that does lost wax casting in bronze. I have access to molds and waxes of several styles of 18th century hilts. Most commercial casting companies will only do large quantities or charge an exorbitant price for short runs that reproducing them is an economic impossibility.
Ideally I would like to find someone who can do small numbers of castings at a reasonable price to make these castings available to the collecting public. Any help is appreciated.

Your best bet is to locate a local art foundry. You can inquire at art or technical colleges with metalworking programs to help locate one or they may be able to help you themselves. For a directory of commercial casters, you can start here: http://www.metalcastingvirtuallibrary.com/foundry/foundry.aspx

Can you tell us more of these moulds? I'm sure I'm not the only one who is curious...

Many times jewelers have equipment to make castings. Try a local shop, rather than large chain stores.
