How to tie suspension straps to a scabbard
I want to add/replace the straps on the scabbard that came with my Hanwei Tinker Norman. Nothing fancy, just something to hang it from my belt until I build myself a proper scabbard. Whenever I need to look at scabbards I always check out the absolutely awesome gallery at DBK's Custom Sword and Scabbard. I saw that he uses a really nice looking knot to tie his straps on his 2.5 point suspensions. Examples:

Does anyone know how to tie a strap to the scabbard like that? Brian doesn't seem to post pictures of the backsides of his scabbards so I can't figure out how the know works.

Thanks in advance!
Of course, 5 minutes after posting this thread I finally find the answer :)

Not exactly period with your Norman, but I think it's a beautiful choice, just as the Norman's a beautiful sword! Good luck and post pictures!

Thanks! I know it doesn't suit my Norman very well, but that doesn't matter to me for the moment. It looks better than the small bands with the chromed rings that came with the scabbard. That's good enough for me at the moment. Sometime later this year I'm scrapping the scabbard anyway and will try to make something more like this:

Not that I can ever hope to achieve the same level of quality as these two people, but that is the general design and strapping I would like to try my hand on eventually. The current scabbard and straps are just to bridge gap until I have time to do that.
