Sources and Makers of Islamic/Persian Arms & Armor
Like many others I am interested in medieval Islam (and Persia way back during Roman times) weapons, armor, etc, but there is a lot less information easily available than their European and Japanese counterparts, it seems. Not to mention less of a modern movement to forge them.

So I am coming to the experts (you guys) for any recommendations, regarding good sites, books, and anyone currently making weapons or armor of that kind.

To narrow it down some, Islamic forces pre-gunpowder, as well as any Persian stuff from before they merged. Not so much interested in India at the moment.

Thanks a bunch.

Try YouTube do not laugh
I was doing some browsing on youtube and ran across a video of a maker of Arabic swords and looked it up on the internet for a future purchase. You can use the translate feature on your browser to translate from Arabic to English. Swords are big especially Saudia Arabia and sword makers there still use time honored techniques. Some of the swords can be very expensive and others not so very pricey. I deleted the URL, sorry, but with a little research you can probably find it. I shall ask my contacts there if they can locate the makers and their shops, yes they advertise on the net but usually in Arabic.

Regards,

Harry
