Greek armour
Hello myArmoury,

Lately I have been getting into ancient Greek history and have decided I want to assemble a Greek hoplite kit :D For awhile I have only seen brass reproductions but now I have found some bronze armour on KultofAthena and it looks really great! The Corinthian helm I have posted below looks historically correct to me except for one thing. There are two hoops on the helm, one front and one on the back  They say on the site that they are there so that the crest could be attached...but from what I'v seen the crest appears to be directly on top of the helm and not on the fore head

So is this historically correct , did they do this?

Huh, not bad! I agree, though, never seen a loop that low on the forehead. It's possible that's based on an original, but not one that I recall. Cut it off and grind and polish it smooth!

By the way, the Roman Army Talk board has a section on Greek military history and one on Greek reenactment:

Oh, and I expect you've already seen my own humble site,

Have fun! Khaire,

Matthew
