Hand-sax in the style of the Merovingian Era. The 8-1/2 inch 5160 spring steel blade is selectively hardened and shows a clear 'temper-line.' The blade is flat-ground to a 'rolled' edge and is extremely sharp. Hilt furniture is of mild steel; the hilt is secured by passing the tang throught the hilt and riveting the tang over the pommel. The handle is Emboyna Burl wood with a pronounced figure and is quite spectacular. Provided at this time with a plain single-seam leather scabbard, but a traditional-style scabbard with brass mounts is available at an extra cost.
