"wood" has some meanings... barrel, small forest, etc...
and famous proverb "not see the wood for the trees"...

Yes it is a joke or rather a common synonym in English for the " excited " male member in it's hard state i.e. wood being hard and stiff. ;)
A bit explicit in my explanation of the expression but a more " subtle " or timid explanation might have been more difficult to understand for someone whose first language isn't English. ;) :D :cool:
